In the first part of a deep dive series on the Oklahoma environment and environmental policy issues, Brett talks with Michael Fuhr, state director of the Oklahoma chapter of the Nature Conservancy. Fuhr began his career with The Nature Conservancy in 1998 as a land protection specialist with the Arkansas Chapter. Since he has moved up to becoming the state director of the Oklahoma Chapter. The Oklahoma Chapter of the Nature Conservancy began in the 1980’s and currently protects nearly 100,000 acres of Oklahoma landscape ranging from montane regions in the eastern part of the state to prairies and even Black Mesa State Park in the western portion of the state.
