With growing opposition among lawmakers from both parties to an income tax-reduction plan rolled out by state leaders, Gov. Mary Fallin issued a statement urging legislators to pass it, because Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback signed a measure Tuesday reducing that state’s top income tax rate to 4.9 percent.

Senate and House budget leaders announced Monday evening that appropriations panels will vote Tuesday on bond issue proposals for three projects: The State Capitol building and the overall Capitol Complex: $200 million.
